The company has been grabbing other studios in recent years to bolster the first-party support on Xbox further, and it only makes sense for The Outer Worlds 2 to be an exclusive title. The Outer Worlds 2 didn't get many details shared during its reveal trailer, but Microsoft confirmed that the RPG would not be coming to PlayStation or the Nintendo Switch, two platforms that the first game came to. Fans will be happy to know that a sequel to The Outer Worlds was revealed during the joint Xbox and Bethesda E3 2021 presentation, but it's not coming to as many platforms as the first one. Ever since the launch of Obsidian's The Outer Worlds back in 2019 (not be to be confused with Outer Wilds), many fans have been clamoring for a sequel to the first-person role-playing game from the makers of Fallout: New Vegas.
